The Last Monday Ava Will Be 3!

Ok, first I cannot believe Ava will be 4 this Saturday! We're not doing a big themed party, but she has changed her mind on what kind of cake, again! It was Larry boy, now it's Backyardigans, something she hardly watches now. Good thing I didn't plan on having a big veggie party. I had planned on making the cake, but if she wants Backyardigans, I may have to find a place to get one. The following week (Kevin is working the day of) we're taking her to Chuck E Cheese, so maybe I could just talk her into getting a cake there. I don't think that will go over well.
Maybe I'll just check the grocery store bakery. Remind me not ask her a second time next year.

Happy Valentine's Day!

(Image I've sent to Kevin a few times before)

We don't have huge plans for this year. Am I disappointed? Maybe a little, considering I was hoping for a bit bigger than last year's inability to do much. But that's ok, love is all that counts today. Instead, I'm about to get ready to go see my mother-in-law, who is spending her first Valentine's Day alone in over 40 years. Some of the family that would have gone over are out of town today. We will probably take her out to eat and then to the cemetery. So, when I think of big plans I could have had, I just remember her and am thankful they don't have to include just remembering my sweet bbah (my nickname for Kevin).
But in honor of him, I will do a quick list of things I love about him (in no particular order).

1. The way he says I love you (actually both of us) every hour or less when we are in the same room or car.
2. He says it if we wake a little in the night too.
3. His big bear hugs that just envelop me and make me feel so safe.
4. His sensitivity. He cries easier than I do at movies or some sad news stories he reads. Too sweet.
5. He always offers me a bite of whatever he's eating, even if it's the last.
6. He still opens the car door for me, if he's driving.
7. His incredible love for Ava.
8. Sometimes when we're sitting face to face, the way he likes to put his hand on my chest to feel my heartbeat.
9. Those sweet kissies on my forehead when he holds me. (I'm somewhat shorter than him)
10. His excitement when he sees something new and cool. He's such a big kid and can sound like it.
11. He puts up with my whining, indecisiveness, temper, and much more.
12. He is always telling me how beautiful I am, even if I never agree.
13. He always tells me to "get something I want if I see it" when I go to the store, even if I hardly ever actually do.
14. He lets me warm my cold (ok, they're usually frozen) feet on him.

I could keep going, but I'll leave it at 14 for February 14.
I love you today and always bbah! XOXOXOXOXO

Wow, Beautiful Day!

We had some great weather today, and it's supposed to continue through the weekend. I took Ava to the park, something she's been begging to do for a while now. Of course, I forgot the camera, but it was so nice out. It was like 70 and no clouds. I promised her we'd try to go again tomorrow. But I also told our neighbor we'd make it by their church rummage sale. I'll probably get up early and go to that since Ava would probably want to buy every toy they may have.
We're gonna enjoy this weather since I'm sure it will get cold again soon. I'm looking forward to late March/early April when it will stay like this for a while. Then come May I'll be begging for cold weather again.

All this weather talk is making me think of how it is probably so nice right now in St. Augustine, FL. Why? Because we are in the planning stages of gettin ourselves moved down there, we hope. Ever since we visited there in '07 we have talked about living there almost constantly. I've been doing a lot of praying over it. I'm still not quite sure it's where God wants us, but I (we) can't seem to shake this strong feeling for it. As you may know, it's the oldest city in the country, so it's full of historically interesting places. Something we both love. Kevin would probably be more likely to find a job in Jacksonville, so we'd have to live in between (and of course I already have a place in mind). 'Course, a new job will be the biggest obstacle with the economy the way it is, who knows if anyone will be hiring. But it's always been Kevin's dream to live near the beach. I love it too, but I grew up never getting to go to one much, so my feelings for it are more recent. Where we live now is supposed to be temporary. One of Kevin's closest friends helped get him the job here, so he (Kevin) said he would give him at least a year. Well, that's up at the end of March. But we'll see where God leads us. It might even be to stay here (I can't imagine that it would be) or in a totally different direction. Come March I'll be paying veeeery close attention.
